Greenwich Theatre re-opened Autumn 1999: after a long-awaited consultants' report, Greenwich Council has doubled its grant to the Theatre for three years enabling it to re-open as a 'receiving house'.

The new Executive Director is Hilary Strong, formerly director of the Edinburgh Fringe.
